Find broken links on a Webflow site — including CMS pages.
Webflow doesn’t check external links for you, and broken links hide in CMS items, rich text and old buttons. Here’s a quick routine that covers all of them.
1. Check the page you just changed
Publish to your webflow.io staging domain, open the page and run a page check. Most pages are done in under 10 seconds, and broken links are outlined right on the page — click one in the list to jump to it, then fix it in the Designer.
2. Scan CMS pages through the sitemap
Collection pages (blog posts, case studies, products) are where links rot: they were written months ago and nobody clicks through them again. Turn on the auto-generated sitemap in Site settings → SEO → Sitemap, then run a whole-site scan. The scan reads /sitemap.xml, opens every page and lists each broken link with the pages it appears on.
3. Look for links you can’t see
Hidden elements, links in the mobile menu, and buttons inside interactions don’t show up when you click around. A link checker reads them all; links that exist but aren’t visible are marked “hidden on page”.
4. Ignore the menu while you work on content
The navbar and footer repeat on every page. Turn on Ignore header, footer & menus to check only the content of the page.
5. Send the result
Working on a client’s site? Export a client-ready HTML report — broken links first, with the pages they’re on — or a CSV for your task list.
